  1. I am an extremely emotional person. My attitude and way that I am feeling can change almost instantly. Growing up, I have heard time and time again that “women are too emotional” and “women are crazy”. Many times when I am feeling a certain way, I question if I am wrong for feeling that way or wrong for feeling so strongly about something because of this preconceived idea that if I am emotional, I will be dubbed as “crazy”. This leads to a lot of over thinking and questioning my feelings. For this body of work, I have decided to showcase the many emotions that I feel almost daily each in their own composition. How I feel and how I react to things is no ones business but my own. I am aloud to feel however I need to feel to help me through a situation. Although the situations surrounding these emotions are personal, the actual emotion is not unique to myself, because all people feel emotion (happiness, sadness, frustration, defeat, energetic, determined, vulnerable). I feel like the viewer will be able to interact with my artwork and be able to react to each piece in his or her own personal way.

  2. Blue Prints
The human body is a blue print of nature down to the cellular level. Our form is soft and fragile like the delicate balance of nature. In this series the figure is broken down into forms and juxtaposed into each landscape. The figure becomes part of the scene or mimics its surroundings. The cyanotype process is one of the oldest paper printing processes and was used in architectural blueprints. I find it a perfect medium to showcase the human form as a “blueprint” to mother nature.

  3. Currently, I am working on an idea. In my head, I would like to begin working on mix media works of insects. Insects of all kinds, the creepier the better. Because of size, in real life, one would have to look closely at line, shape and color details on each of the insects. I would like to take the size of these insects and enlarged them tremendously to focus solely on their beautiful details. Bigger than I have ever worked before. In the past I have been so concerned about incorporating social issue aspects into my artwork to really connect with viewer and opinion. I will probably want to drift toward that again with everything going on in the world, but I would like to focus on working on craft itself. I really enjoy working with mixed media within painting, printmaking, and drawing. When creating these insects I would like to experiment with cardboard, ink, wire, & watercolor in specific. Also I would really like to incorporating technology within the process and sharing work.

  4. For this midteam, my work have three parts. They are about acrylic painting, graphic design and ceramics. Kishinev Kurokawa’s famous observation that all of space could be distilled into three basic shapes has driven my work! Artistically, I value thought over feelings and ideas over aesthetics. They are combined with each other. This is the so-called art space change.

  6. Inspired by how Korean pop idols are trained and packaged into an “ideal image,” sculpted by companies- and how high of a standard they are held to by the public and their own fans.
By using traditional stained glass techniques, I create idealized portraits of Korean pop idols. This creates an otherworldly aura around the idol- stripping the humanity of the idol. Mirroring the way fans raise up and worship their idols.

  7. Thoughout the years of my Media Art Edcation.I have fallen in love with graphic design especially illustration.Four-year majoring in Graphic Design during undergraduate study has exposed me to a wide range of the art fields.About this Midterm,I creat a series of illustrations. It’s include six pieces of work, six characters.Exaggerated movements and characters are what I do best.Every art works has a story behind it,involved different sources of inspiration, different way of creating and different selection and application of materials. This story is all about six chinese athletes who attended the Rio Olympic Games.I love to use illustration to record my life, like a timeline.
